Large Eye Heart Pendant
This pendant by Betsy Youngquist was made using an antique glass doll eye surrounded by glass beads, Swarovski flatback crystals, freshwater pearls, and vintage glass jewelry components adhered in a mosaic process. The eye was salvaged from the grounds of a pre-WW2 German doll factory. These were the "flawed" eyes which were buried in the ground as a means of disposal. All of these materials are set in a silver-plated pewter heart form. The chain is 18 inches long and made of stainless steel with a sterling silver lobster clasp. Eyes are historically identified as symbols of protection. The pendant itself is 2.25 inches long and a little over 1 inch wide. This pendant is a one of a kind piece of wearable art. Different chain lengths available upon request.
